Human-Centred Process Improvement

Improving how work flows through stronger communication, relationships and process design.

I help organisations understand how work really happens by exploring communication, relationships, handovers and collaboration across the human process chain.

By improving how people work together, services can become more efficient, more effective and more responsive.

My approach

Processes are carried out by people. When handovers are unclear, communication breaks down or teams work in isolation, the process struggles, however good it looks on paper.

I look at the whole system: how decisions in one part of an organisation affect outcomes elsewhere, and where relationships and communication make the biggest difference. Sustainable improvement needs both structure and adaptability.

What changes

  • Processes feel simpler and less frustrating
  • Teams communicate and collaborate more effectively
  • Services become safer and higher quality
  • People enjoy their work more

What people say

From feedback on work Liz led in NHS hospitals. Names and places have been removed.

Your calm and measured approach to the change agenda was particularly impressive and has made a significant impact on our team. The sense of ownership and pride among the team members is evident, and I believe it is a direct result of your guidance and encouragement.
Senior clinician, NHS
I initially felt like we already knew what we wanted to do. It is obvious now that your approach, using tools to analyse the current way of working, gave a much deeper level of understanding of where we were and how we move to where we wanted to be. You brought a lot of credibility to the ward, and the team have told me that they felt you knew what you were talking about and genuinely listened.
Senior operational manager, NHS
You never made us feel bad for not being there, simply kept us on track and feeling positive. It has been really helpful to be introduced to tools and methods that clinical areas can use themselves, to give them some ownership and the chance to ask themselves some difficult questions.
